Epson Stylus Photo R2400 Printer

The highly-regarded R2400 is the most advanced of Epson's Stylus Photo series of printers.

CNET wrote about it:

Like its predecessor, the Stylus Photo 2200, the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 isn't for everyone: it's expensive both to buy and operate, it's a space hog, and it's a bit awkwardly designed. But when your images mean everything to you--especially if they're black-and-white--then the R2400 is the printer to own. Its flexible paper handling, long-lived and color-accurate prints, expanded gray tonal range and nth-degree driver controls are designed with enthusiast and pro photographers in mind.

In a massive 13-page review, the photo-i website concluded:

So where do I begin with the EPSON Stylus Photo R2400 printer? Perhaps I will start off by making this sweeping statement:

"The EPSON Stylus Photo R2400 doesn't compete with traditional wet chemistry photographs - it doesn't need to as it is streets ahead of anything I have seen produced in a darkroom".

....It's now time to stop comparing inkjet prints with darkroom prints, the inkjet has proved itself to be a worthy successor. I would not even think about going back into a darkroom, nor would I use a pro lab for my colour prints - why should I when the results from colour printers are so good? As with everything, from sports cars to HiFi or cameras, one product will stand out above the rest, this will be the product that we all aspire to owning. The Epson Stylus Photo R2400 is at the top of the printer list for those who want the very best in photo quality.

Would I buy this printer?

This question should be "When will I buy this printer"?

PC Magazine was equally enthusiastic:

At $849.99 the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 obviously isn't for everyone. But if you're a serious photographer who isn't satisfied with anything less than an SLR camera and a collection of bayonet-mount lenses for taking your photos, you probably won't settle for anything less than the R2400 when it comes to printing them.

...The combination of quality and long-lived output is enough to make the R2400 our new Editors' Choice.
