ReviewsCanon PIXMA iP90 Photo Printer
The Devices and Development website commented:
Advertised as "rugged, powerful and portable" the Canon PIXMA iP90 sounds faintly like a Jeep. But here's the difference -- at only 7 pounds, it's much lighter and portable than a Jeep -- and while it has significantly less horsepower, it definitely blows the Jeep out of the water when it comes to high-quality color printing.
….Its chief problem -- the photos aren't amazing. If you're looking to print photos to submit to contests or generally are looking for something that's intensely high-caliber, this isn't the printer for it. Much like the ultra-portable laptops, it sacrifices a certain amount of quality for its portability and speed -- which isn't necessarily bad, but should be a warning to buyers looking for something else.
If you are, however, in the market for a fast printer that can print color and monochrome on the go -- we can't think of anything better. Your prints will still look better than most and you can print new ones at every hotel you’re in – it’s a fair price for a good printer and we’ll take it.
PC Magazine said:
When you need to print away from your home or office, a portable printer like the Canon Pixma iP90 Photo Printer can come in handy. Whether you need to whip out an updated PowerPoint presentation in the cab on the way to a meeting, or you're a soccer mom or dad who wants to hand out photos of the game even before it's over, the iP90 can do the job.
CNET summarised its review as follows:
The good: Good print quality for graphics and photos; portable; built-in infrared and PictBridge ports; battery and Bluetooth add-ons.
The bad: Low-volume ink cartridges; so-so text quality; pricey extras. For true cordless portability, you'll need a battery that costs $100.
The bottom line: Ever printed on an airplane? What about from a cell phone? The go-anywhere Canon iP90 offers worlds of possibilities--for a price.
